MARGUERITE MARTYN ON AMAZON.COM
Marguerite Martyn was so prolific in her career that we couldn't possibly fit everything she's written into our book series.  So  here are some stories she wrote about the curious and fascinating times she lived in that for one reason or another didn't make it into our books:

"The More I See Of This Boasted Civilization,  The More I Like---Indians,"
Beatrice Farnham explains her point of view as well as her fashion choices while onlookers stare, whoop and holler.

"America Is No Place for Babies," Says the Lady Hercules

Circus strongwoman Katie Sandwina twirls her husband around her head.

French Heels and Wooden Blocks
"Like all heroes, he modestly disclaims having done anything notable."

Nellie Bly Chases Business Prospects Out to a Brewery
Martyn catches up with world famous journalist-turned-businesswoman Nellie Bly, who says:   "“What was that? Did somebody say ‘brewery’?”

Andrew Carnegie On Prosperity, Income Tax, and the Blessings of Poverty

Sly interviewer Martyn gets Andrew Carnegie to talk to her while he's traveling West by train.  One of the questions she asks:  "What do you think of the high cost of living? Where is it going to end?"

What is Society? Toto Papin Explains
Theophile Papin explains to the reporter the meaning of Society, and how St. Louis compares with Paris, and Vienna.
"I appealed to Mr. Papin’s missionary instinct so that you dwellers in the outer darkness can learn something of what society is," Martyn wrote, "and who it consists of, what society stands for,  as well as its aims, purposes, faults, progresses, and failures."
